School Parking Advice

School Parking Advice

I hope everyone has enjoyed the good weather and school holidays as some schools return for the new year this week here is a reminder of what is expected when parking your vehicle unless you take a walk to school and therefore this does not apply.

PLEASE DO NOT park your vehicles where it would cause any inconvenience, endangerment or obstruction to anyone else including obstructing driveways, paths and dropped kerbs.

(Unless in an authorised parking space)

Opposite or within 10 metres of a junction
Opposite a traffic island
At or near a bus stop or taxi rank
On a pedestrian crossing
In an area marked by zig-zag lines

Please do not park either partially or wholly on the pavement…this can cause an obstruction for pedestrians, prams/pushchairs and wheelchair users, as well as damaging the grass verge.

Officers will be patrolling in your area and fixed penalty notices will be issued where appropriate.

Standard parking/obstruction offences incur a fine & vehicle recovery fee.

Parking on zig-zag lines incurs a fine and 3 penalty points.

Thank you for your support in this matter, please note standard parking enforcement is carried out by Northamptonshire County Council excluding Kettering.
