Police officers in Northamptonshire are issuing a warning to people across the county about a recent spate of handbag and purse thefts.
The incidents have taken place in Northampton, Kettering and Corby and have happened mostly in supermarkets with the criminals mainly targeting elderly women.

Incidents of note between Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 September.
Between 19.00hrs on Saturday 15 September and 12.00hrs on Sunday 16 September a horse lorry parked in fields adjacent to Easton Way, Grendon has been broken into. An interior partition has been damaged and items stolen.

A burglary dwelling took place in Grendon yesterday (12th September) between 13:00hrs and 13:30hrs. The offenders were seen to make off in a white Kia (Registration: KE65 HEX – however these are cloned plates).

Northamptonshire Police are appealing for information regarding a theft from vehicle on Grendon Lakes, Grendon. Diesel has been siphoned from a JCB. This took place between 16:00hrs on the 20th of August and 07:00hrs on the 21st of August.

The 'Village Hopper' Community Service was launched this morning, this is the first passenger to board. We are delighted that together with other local parishes and the support of Shire Community Services we have been able to provide this much needed replacement service to ensure residents can travel to work and into Northampton.

Incidents of note between Monday 9 July and Wednesday 11 July
Between 15.30hrs and 15.33hrs on Monday 9 July a vehicle parked on Main Road, Grendon was broken when the rear passenger window was smashed. A handbag was stolen from within and credit cards later used to purchase goods at a nearby location.

Crime and Policing Update for Wollaston and Grendon Incidents of note between Wednesday 20 and Friday 22 June.
Between 14.00hrs and 14.30hrs on Wednesday 20 June the driver's door of a van parked on Main Road, Grendon was forced open. A wallet was stolen from the glove box and tools were stolen from the rear of the vehicle.

As you may be aware, Northamptonshire's local authorities have been invited by the government to submit a proposal to restructure local government in Northamptonshire by the end of August 2018.
